About the Event

Stress and anxiety are at an all time high in our society right now. Anxiety itself has now surpassed depression as the leading mental health issue in the US. But what actually happens when we get anxious and stressed? How do we navigate this when it is a constant in our day to day lives? This workshop will educate you on the stress response and the mind-body connection of stress and anxiety. We will then explore how to work with stress and anxiety through movement, the breath and mindfulness tools.

Part A: Understanding Stress and Anxiety

Part B: Grounding and The Power of the Breath

Part C: Movement practice

Meet Emily Perrin

I am a registered 200 hour Yoga Instructor, certified Mindfulness and Meditation teacher and Duke Certified Integrative Health Coach. I am also a full time student at the University of Denver getting my Masters in Social Work en route to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I primarily work with athletes and specialize in putting unique and individual programming together that encompasses all three modalities to help athletes enhance their performance. When we help athletes address their health in an all encompassing way using these techniques and tools we set them up to reach peak performance and maintain it.
