About the Event
Did you know that the pelvic floor musculature serves as the base of our core muscles?
Being able to contract and relax these muscles is optimal to our daily function, but also to activation of uddiyana bandha and mula bandha.
In this 2-hour online workshop you will learn the basic anatomy of the pelvic floor as well as how to optimize it’s length/tension relationship in common yoga postures.
Concepts covered will include:
- basic pelvic floor anatomy,
- tangible ways to contract and relax the pelvic floor,
- pelvic positioning during standing asana,
- an exploration into how breath work is key to pelvic floor function,
- and a series of core challenging sequences to activate the entire core system.
This workshop is great for everyone who wants to understand more about optimal core engagement (we all have a pelvic floor) and for yoga instructors who want to learn how to integrate this area of the body into their teachings.
